Putting together a blog post for plus size Disney dresses for spring is so much fun! Spring is a time for renewal. That includes your wardrobe. Lighter fabrics keep you from overheating. Flirty styles make you feel feminine and fetching. And Disney colors are always bright and gorgeous, which are perfect for spring.
No mater your shape or size, plus size Disney dresses also tell the world that you're a fan of the House of Mouse.
I searched my favorite online stores to get ideas for plus size Disney dresses any spring event, like Easter, a wedding or a girls' night out.
Update Feb. 2, 2020: Most of these dresses and skirts are no longer available. Browse my other blog posts for Disney clothing to find more. Or search Poshmark to see if anyone is selling them used.

Plus Size Cinderella Dress

Of all the nerdy plus size dresses I looked at for this blog post, the Disney Cinderella Blue Chiffon Pleated Skater Dress from Torrid is BY FAR my favorite.
I absolutely love the periwinkle blue of this plus size dress. And that fabric! It's perfect for spring dresses for plus size women. You can't go wrong with these lines, either. The high waist and knee-length would be flattering on just about everyone (even big-boob me). Don't be put off because it's sleeveless. There was a time when I wouldn't look at anything that didn't have sleeves. But, I figured, life's too short to pass up an adorable dress like this just because I don't have guns like Angela Bassett. And if you're wearing THIS plus size Cinderella dress, ain't nobody gonna be looking at your arms. They'll see the whole beautiful package! It's on sale for $49.99.
I paired it with a Danielle Nicole Disney Cinderella Face Crossbody Bag from Her Universe. Novelty purses are all the rage, and I love it! It has a gold tone chain strap and gold tone zipper pull. It measures 7″ x 9″ x 2″ with a 22″ strap. I think the strap is kinda short (again, big boobies) but for this adorable bag, I would just carry it by hand.
The other Cinderella purse Her Universe sells is the upper torso of the iconic blue dress. It's cute, but frankly, at first glance you can't tell what the heck it is. I like Cindy's head much better. It's $55.12
You can't dress like Cinderella and leave off some sparkly shoes. I found these Slip-On '90s Sparkly Lucite Cinderella Shoes from To 2.19.91 on Etsy. They're vintage! If you consider the '90s vintage. [wink] These Cinderella shoes were $42, but there's only one pair. You can check out more Cinderella shoes on Etsy.
For accessories, I chose a pretty Light blue bow headband from Bella Headbands on Etsy for $10.99, and a Cinderella necklace with charms and a silver-plated, heart-shaped locket from Copper Sky Jewelry on Etsy for $20.95.
Plus Size Star Wars

My next pick for nerdy spring dresses for plus size women isn't actually a dress. It's an outfit, but it's so pretty you could easily wear it for Easter Sunday or some other dressy occasion.
The Star Wars Naboo Symbol Plus Size Cardigan from Her Universe is a lovely, soft color. It's somewhere between peach and dusty rose. The pattern is made up of the symbol for Naboo. (Think Queen Amidala.) In this photo, the model is wearing a black camisole underneath. I would never have thought to wear black; I would have picked white. But I think the black really makes the color of the cardigan pop. This cardigan is finished off with pearlized buttons. It sells for $55.92.
The cardigan is paired with a Star Wars Naboo Landscape Plus Size Skirt from Her Universe. Isn't it pretty? If you didn't know this was a scene from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, you would think it was just an artistic print. The A-line of the skirt is flattering on just about everybody. The cotton fabric (with a hint of Spandex) will make it light as a feather in warm weather. It's $47.92.
I chose a Star Wars R2-D2 Heart Crossbody Bag from ThinkGeek for this outfit, mostly because R2 brings out the blue. Most of the other Star Wars bags are black or grey. There are a few of BB-8, but the orange wouldn't look great with this cardigan. It's $39.99 and made of Wookie-safe faux leather.
I found Hand-painted R2-D2 Glitter Flats Women's Shoes from Nerdly Goodness on Etsy. They're ADORABLE. And you could wear them with all sorts of Star Wars outfits, which would make it worth spending $75. They're made to order!
I decided to keep the jewelry simple so the scene on the skirt is the focus with a Star Wars Leia Stacked Pendants Necklace from ThinkGeek for $24.99.
Plus Size Ariel Dress

Here's a dress that doesn't scream Disney, even though it's a plus size Ariel dress. The Disney Ariel Multicolor Midi Dress is from Torrid. The earth tones are a departure from the usual bright purple, green and turquoise you usually see in anything associated with The Little Mermaid. I like it! The colors make the dress much more grown-up and sophisticated. From Torrid, “A soft ivory bodycon dress hugs your curves in all of the right places while the tulle overlay is covered with everything you love about The Little Mermaid.” It's $51.67.
I chose another novelty bag (I love 'em, can you tell?) for this plus size Disney dress. I mean, Ariel can't go anywhere without Flounder, right? This Little Mermaid Flounder Crossbody Purse from ThinkGeek is bright and fun. It has a full zip enclosure with a crossbody strap for $69.99.
The model in the photo is wearing rose gold shoes (I'm so glad rose gold is a trend), so I found these ShoBeautiful Women's Chunky Heel Sandal in rose gold on Amazon. The block heel is only 2.75″. They're made of leatherette and have a silver buckle. The nice thing about block heels and mid to low heels is that you don't feel like your ready to yell “timber!” I like a solid shoe under my feet. Depending on your size, they're $19.69 – $29.99.
Then I found these Green Shell Earrings with Rose Gold Hooks from Graceful Fox Design on Etsy. They're only $22 and you could wear them with all sorts of spring and summer outfits. They're 2.25″ long and made of (you guessed it!) rose gold.
I also found this Seashell French Barrette from Pins with Personality on Etsy. Barrettes are a great way to give yourself a dressy ‘do without too much fuss. It's $20.
Plus Size Disney Princess

This Disney Princess Blue & White Icons Print Cold Shoulder Dress from Torrid has silhouettes of all our favorite princesses. This trendy cold shoulder plus size dress is made of knit and mesh fabric, so it's light and cool. I love the vintage look of the cameo print. It's $43.97.
As for the shoes, I saw these and just couldn't resist showing them to you. Sure, the model is wearing nude heels (which you could totally do), but aren't these fun? They're Alice in Wonderland Custom Heels from A Whimsical Hoot on Etsy. They're a whopping $150, but that's because they're custom made. Can you see the purple stripes on the heel? And the white ribbon bows on the backs? SO DARN CUTE!
This Disney Princesses Pink Script Foldover Clutch is from What Melissa Made on Etsy. She uses actual Disney fabrics. This one is just lovely with it's cursive text and custom button. I love the cameo theme is picked up in the purse to echo the dress. It's $42 and has a wristlet and a handy back pocket.
The model is wearing a choker, so I picked this Cinderella-inspired choker from Belle's Bows Boutique in the UK on Etsy. Yes, I know. Normally I would never buy something from “across the pond,” but it's only $7.34 and the shipping is only $5.87. Belle's Bows Boutique says you'll get it 1 week, so that's not terrible.
I included a Cinderella Happily Ever After Princess Hair Bow from Emily Ever After on Etsy to top off the look. The ribbon says “Happily ever after.” Aw! It's only $8.
Plus Size Ariel Dress (Pink)

There's only one thing I don't like about this plus size Disney dress, so I'll just say it up front. Clearly the model is wearing the wrong size! I don't like the gap at her shoulder and I think it's too baggy at her waist. There. I said it.
Otherwise, this Disney The Little Mermaid Ariel Princess Dress from Her Universe is as sweet as it can be. This pretty, bubblegum pink plus size dress is based on Ariel's pink dinner gown., except it's tea length. It has a scooping neckline with puffed shoulder sleeves, a corset back and a tonal pink print that features filigree, seashells, and “dinglehoppers.” It's $33.59.
The model is wearing t-strap sandals, but they're made of some kind of shell design. That looks awfully uncomfortable. Instead, I found these lovely T-Strap Block Heel Sandals from RF Room of Fashion. The heel is 2″ x 2″. Again, I like a solid heel 'cause I'm a solid gal. They're only $24.95 on Amazon.
Now the purse is a Disney Belle Debossed Faux Leather Purse from ThinkGeek. Yes, it's Belle, but the creamy white color goes very well with this dress. (Plus, don't you think all those princesses are friends? They seem like they would be.) It's $69.99 and has a fabric lining and faux leather exterior.
I added two small accessories that wouldn't fight for attention with an already attention-getting dress. I found a Rose Gold Glittery Hair Tie from The Fancy Nurses Nook on Etsy for $4, and a Little Mermaid-inspired Charm Necklace by Main Street Crystal on Etsy for $12. You choose the length of the necklace.

Very cute!! These are so fun. My favorite is the Ariel dress. 🙂
The mauve-ish one or the pink one? I really like the mauve-ish one.
