Nothing tells the world you’re a fan of Doctor Who like a plus size Tardis dress does. One of the benefits of wearing a plus size Tardis dress is that if people aren’t fans of Doctor Who, they’ll just think you’re wearing a blue police box on your dress. And then they’ll wonder why.
For the uninitiated, TARDIS stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. The Tardis is the time machine that the Doctor uses to, well, travel through time. It’s bigger on the inside than it looks. It’s made to look like a British blue police box so that it blends into the background. The Doctor wouldn’t want just anyone wandering in, would he?
Although I wouldn’t call myself a fan, I keep up with the show and I have a fondness for Tardis dresses. Probably because I’m an avid Anglophile. They’re just so blue!
A plus size Tardis dress should be a staple in the wardrobe of any Whovian. Several stores have carried them in the last handful of years, but they’re mostly sold out. I put together this blog post with links to lots of versions of the plus size Tardis dress to help you find one. Some of these are listed on Poshmark, so they may already be sold. Fear not! You can simply search for ‘Tardis dress’ and find a ton more listings. (Finding them in plus size is the hard part.)
You can also order a Tardis dress in just about any style and size from CowCow. (See my blog post for more info. on the store.) I’ve picked out two that I think are especially nice. I also added a couple of other items that I think plus size Doctor Who fans might be interested in.

Doctor Who Tardis Quarter Sleeve Skater Dress
Doctor Who Tardis Quarter Sleeve A-Line Dress
A-Line Dress – This pattern is the same as the dress above, but the cut of the dress is slightly different. Goes up to size 3XL.
Doctor Who Tardis Skater Dress
Sleeveless Skater Dress – Again, this is the same design as the other dresses. However, this dress is sleeveless and goes up to size 5XL. (Why can’t the other ones go up that high? No idea. You could click through and try messaging the artist.) If you’re uncomfortable wearing a sleeveless dress (I am sometimes), you could pair it with a super-cute blue shrug that goes up to size 4X.
Doctor Who Police Box Swing Dress
Doctor Who Collar Dress
Doctor Who Collar Dress – Here’s another version of a plus size Tardis dress that Torrid and Hot Topic used to sell. I love the seams in the bodice and the cute collar. This dress was also listed on Poshmark. Choose the Torrid dress that’s size 28 for $40 or choose the Hot Topic dress that’s size XL for $30.
Doctor Who Corset Dress
Doctor Who BodyCon Tardis Dress
Doctor Who BodyCon Tardis Dress – This plus size Tardis dress from Her Universe is curve-hugging to the max. It’s listed on Poshmark, size XL, $25. That’s a steal if you can fit into it. Again, if you don’t want to go sleeveless, you could pair it with a super-cute blue shrug that goes up to size 4X.
Doctor Who Tardis Skirt
Doctor Who Tardis Skirt – I found this skirt while I was searching for a plus size Tardis dress on Poshmark. It’s described as a “bandage” skirt from Hot Topic. Size 2X, $15. Would look really cute over leggings if you didn’t want to show off your legs.
Tardis Jumper Skirt
Tardis Jumper Skirt – I also found this adorable skirt and suspenders on Poshmark. Size 26, $30. (I also followed this seller because I’m guessing she has other clothes I might want to buy in the future.)
Time Lord Dress
Time Lord Dress – This isn’t technically a plus size Tardis dress in the typical bright blue, but it’s too cute not to include. I found this one on Etsy. KMK Designs can make it for you up to size 5XL. $177 and up.
